More waiting?

I hate this waiting thing, I feel like all I do is wait at the minute… I’m not very good at it either, you’d think I’d improve with experience.

Anyway, I’m currently waiting for feedback from this afternoons interview (a good non-theatre permanent job in a small but growing company, they need people sooner rather than later so I should hear today if the interviews finish in time. Cue, me doing my best cat on hot bricks bit.

I just can’t settle, can’t concentrate on the photo editing I planned to do, I’ve had 3 cups of tea in the last hour, for something to do and all this is driving me insane. Aaaarggghhhh!

Anyway if I don’t get this job I still have work to go to on Monday, just a temp admin job, but it keeps the wolf from the door, so to speak. It’s working for an environmental drilling company, which looks interesting and they are a nice bunch apparently. I already turned down a glorified dogsbody job earlier this week and had 2 further agancy interviews, plus one for a 3 month theatre contract in Scarborough (which I haven’t heard from and am assuming I haven’t got). I also have a project for the a theatre doing outreach shows as a backup. It’s been a busy week of meetings and the like!

Other news is dull, we have a new shed roof, which has now been proven to be watertight (it’s been raining a bit here) and 2 chunks out of the back door frame, I’m hoping that means a new backdoor soon? *fingers crossed*. I’m still pondering life and hoping the job thing will point me in the right direction…

At least this filled in a few precious minutes and made me think about something else, must mean it’s time for another cuppa then ;-)

Twitchy nets!

I feel like a total nosey neighbour today :D I feel like I’ve been giving the net curtains a right good twitch lately :-p Anyway, the story, the house over the road (no 11) and the house next door (no. 8) are both up for sale. No 11 is a bit of an unfinished project (like ours) and has been for sale for months…. No 8 got repossesed about 4 weeks ago, it was all very much like homes under the hammer meets beat the baliff (tv shows). Cue lots of banging, a county court judge in the street and a locksmith along with 2 heavies and a van  So it’s up for sale and a friend of ours who lives in the next street got curious, we got curious, so we made an appointment to see it…

Meanwhile, I get caught in my dressing gown answering the door at lunchtime to a very pleasant lady, who was interested in buying No8 (next door), not the best way to introduce yourself to a possible new neighbour, she also tells us about no11 that they had an offer in on…

We go in today, it’s trashed, it looks like they were living like pigs in it, yuck! It’s got walls half painted, needs so much work doing on it. There ends the idea of a quick buck between the 3 of us. At least we had a nice lunch (I cooked) in our back yard with the sun shining and all of us being astounded, discussing the houses. It turns out no 11 has subsidence, eek, thankfully ours & no 8 looks okay on that front (another reason for checking it out!)

So, tomorrow is the day for a bit more investigating ;-) We’re getting ours valued tomorrow, just curious to compare more than anything!

With that I’d better go tidy up a bit and clean the hall floor (joy) :-)

Oooo, I almost forgot, I have another interview for a job on Tuesday :-D

It’s been a while!

It has, I almost got out of the habit  So a little update on whats been going on…

Last week was quite exciting, I got an interview for a job in Dundee, and yesterday I went up for it. The joy of leaving the house at 6.30am on a bank holiday and driving three and a half hours to be grilled in an interview! The place and people seem lovely and it would be a great opportunity for me, and as Mr F says I’d be crazy to turn it down. It would be a tough decision to make assuming I’ve impressed them enough. It’s a big move in distance and would make life very different in the short term at least. It seemed to go okay, not perfect, but okay and I’ll hear the outcome early next week, so not too long to wait, thankfully!

Either way it was a great drive, the scenery was stunning and Mr F & I had a great day just nattering on to each other, we don’t seem to get much opportunity to do that lately, sadly. We came home via Perth and had a great coffee and yummy millionaire shortbread, I could have eaten more of it. Then I did my usual and dozed off on the way back :o

Foolish mistake, it gave him time to think, it’s always a bad thing and now he has announced the thing I feared the most, he misses the whine of the supercharger, I hope it doesn’t mean another car swop, I hope it mean he’ll whine on about it for a bit and nothing, rather than drag me to look at things again (this happens a lot, can you tell?) I love the coop, it’s perfect for me anyway! :-D

Well, in other news, I bought myself some camera treats, a bit naughty, but very nice! ;-) I bought a used sigma 70-300 and a canon 50mm f1.8, a few filters and a remote. I was playing about the thursday and snapped a cactus (which is in my flickr) a few MINI pics (it was a bit too sunny for filters a la Top Gear (nice graduated grey/tobacco numbers). I might pop out over the weekend and do some more trial runs, I’m really getting into it at the moment. Hopefully I might improve a bit too, as there is too much luck and not enough judgement when I snap away!

I reckon thats it for now, will try and write more and remember less, Happy Easter too :-D xxx
